Facebook Co-Founder Saverin Gives Up U.S. Citizenship Before IPO: He should be banned from ever setting foot in America again. This is what real traitors look like. I say traitor because what he did was so fundamentally un-american and such a heinous betrayal of the social contract of america that he should be put in prison.

Blog Thoughts

Today I had a two hour argument with my parents. They were desperately upset with my resolve to talk to the people who come up with the tiny bureaucratic bullshit that makes up the monotonous lower minute details of most of my day to day routine. I want to say to these forces of computerized and logical existence: Death to the worksheet and paperwork bullshit that surrounds every aspect of life.  But i’m probably just going to ask them to reconsider their policy that setting back myself and my peers a large sum of money that we somewhat understood we’d be getting from them. However to my parents this rather petty complaint that is really only worth the money it loses me, seemed to my parents an attack on authority, so passionate and anarchic in quality that it could cost me “my entire future.”

I doubt my entire future is as fragile as they say it is.

Yet in a different way it is that fragile.

However it is a strange thing to get so fervently upset over.

The middle class of middle men is a strange one indeed, for they are comfortable having what they have which is enough and in some ways it is too much and they get soft and in others not enough and they seem desperately bored and unhappy.

Its all so petty, and I hate it.

A search for the idea that can be as beautiful as the feeling. Emotions are the the measures and limits of the human spirit, and we see seek to show the depths of sadness and the pinnacles of joy and mirth, they are passing moments, ones to be found and then lost, in this lies their beauty: The truth within the extreme, present and immediately passing. We regard that such a moment can only be present withing our feelings, our emotions, yet not for our ideas or our thoughts. For thoughts are as present and aesthetic as emotions, yet we regard them as eternal and what is unchanging bores us. Art must reject that we be bored of idea or inquiry, it must seek to express ideas as beautiful and fulfilling as emotive, physical feelings. In one day a man is an optimist seeking to be a hedonist while unconsciously a nihilist and presenting himself as a realist. It is in the minds interaction and singular moment of synthesis with the soul that we achieve the beautifully true.

We must do this without forsaking the sensorial aesthetic, we seek visceral thought paired with an eternal beauty.

Artists must recognize the corporate and commerical aesthetic and subvert it towards destroying it. It is the plight of our times to combat the subtle manipulation of the masses towards global docility preached through emotionally manipulative media to warp our sensibilities. Corporate advertisement has hijacked the mediums of paints, photographs, films and music and processed them into products and tools with which to sell us soda and gadgets. They have taken art and turned it into a tool for greed, poisoning its power as a means of human expression. This must be changed.

In order to change it we must move away the from the power of the emotive, which is being used as a primary manipulator exploited for its effect on the human body. We must move toward the power of thought, the beautiful idea, a form of expression that is free and not exploitative.

Only by getting the audience to think new or iconoclastic thoughts will we get them to change.

We must get them to change.
